Stamp Art!

A couple of Fridays ago, the students in 2/3 FI did a different kind of art activity.

Students were given styrofoam trays. Using their pencils, they made shapes and designs into their styrofoam. Since it was Valentine’s day the day we did this activity, we told them they could do hearts as it was a fairly easy shape to do. Then they had to cut out their shapes, which was a little tricky. Styrofoam is not easy to cut! They painted their styrofoam pieces and pressed them onto white paper.

They did a great job! Check them out!

Doubles & Making Ten!

In math we have been working on our mental math skills.

For the past little while, we have been working on our doubles, doubles plus one, doubles minus one, doubles plus two, doubles minus two and making ten.

We have been using music to help us practice these strategies:

You can also check out the Music & Videos page of the blog to practice these songs.

Happy practising! 🙂
