April Showers!

Friday we did an art lesson that involved straws!

First, students drew umbrellas and colored them with pastels. Then, they used splotches of watercolor paint and straws to create a rain effect over their umbrellas.

They turned out great and this is definitely a lesson I will try again. 🙂

Easter Week!

We had a lot of fun in 3 FI last week, as we did many activities to gear us up for our long Easter weekend!

We did a few activities to practice honesty, including using Jenga blocks and playing Telephone:

We also completed an Easter bunny art activity (that did not go how I had planned) on Pajama Day:

We also went on an Easter egg hunt on Twin Day:

A few students participated in ‘Any Holiday Dress-Up Day’:

Finally, we had a tug of war (here’s a class picture of the students in the gym):

I hope everyone had as much this past week as I did! 🙂

Cooperation Part 2!

Last week we worked on a new activity to practice cooperation: Pass the hula hoop!

Students stood in a circle and joined hands. Without letting go of their classmates’ hands, students had to use cooperation to get the hula hoop to travel all the way around the circle.

We tried it altogether, in smaller groups and even timed ourselves. Our best time was 1 minute and 30 seconds around the entire class.

Check it out all the cooperation in 3 FI as the hula hoop is passed around the circle!
