Spring Art

Friday afternoon we created a spring art activity. Students could keep their pieces for themselves or give them to someone special (like their mothers for Mother’s Day).

They were to draw flower shapes on cardstock and cut them out. They had to keep both pieces of paper (the shapes they cut out and the paper they cut them out from) for their art project.

They then had to use pastel to trace around both parts of their paper. They pushed the pastel onto a new piece of paper, creating a smudged look. If they used the shapes they cut out, the smudge was pushed out. If they used the paper the shapes were cut out from, the smudge was pushed in.

This created a very unique and interesting picture!
